The Rev — born James Sullivan — helped found Avenged Sevenfold back in 1999. The band's brutal combination of high-speed punk and theatrical metal immediately grabbed the attention of the rock community, and their debut Sounding the Seventh Trumpet picked up a cult following. Their second album, 2003's Waking the Fallen, earned them even more acclaim as well as a major-label deal. City of Evil, their third full-length and their debut for Warner Bros., elevated them from metalhead favorites to crossover superstars, mostly on the back of the killer single "Bat Country." Their latest album, a self-titled effort in 2007, also scored big with the singles "Almost Easy" and "Scream."

Avenged Sevenfold were notorious for their rock and roll lifestyle (they even cheekily titled a DVD about their career "All Excess") and the Rev in particular was very forthright about his appetite for drugs (though in recent years they've toned down that aspect of the band's personality). Though their sound has shifted and evolved since they began 10 years ago, the group has always relied on the fleet rhythmic pulse of the Rev's playing (as well as his scream-friendly backing vocals), which means the fabric of Avenged Sevenfold (A7X to their fans) will be changed forever. Plus, the Rev provided the group with a tongue-in-cheek sensibility. He wrote and took lead vocals on "A Little Piece of Heaven" (from the band's self-titled album), a cheeky goth epic about mass murder that became a fan favorite (especially after the release of the accompanying animated video, which was created by the Rev and frontman M. Shadows).

As the various clips of their host spots on MTV2 prove, the Rev often acted as the voice of the band during interviews and provided deadpan insight into the band's inner workings. He was a key piece of the A7X puzzle and will be sorely missed.

Avenged Sevenfold’s ‘The Rev’ reportedly died of natural causes today. According to Fox News, James (Jimmy) Owen Sullivan aka “The Rev” was found dead at his home in Southern California. He was a backup vocalist for the Southern California band, “Avenged Sevenfold.”

They say James Owen Sullivan who went by the stage name, “The Rev” appears to have died of natural causes today in Huntington Beach,California. He was only 28 years old. The Orange County coroner’s office is reportedly investigating the death.

The Avenged Sevenfold band was formed in Huntington Beach,California back in 1999 and won “Best New Artist at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Also they were working on their fifth album,according to their Myspace page.

went to illuma to watch the titans challenge or w/e. was supposed to meet jeslin and gucci. gucci cannot make it because of his headache. met up with jeslin instead. waited for about 45 mins. owell very used to it already so i don't feel anything LOL. saw kian chong while waiting for her. he came for some 0 degree specs for his job LOL but couldn't find any. jeslin came by cab very pissed off at the cab driver. went to the lan shop and saw melvin and jason there. they already lost by the time we reached there. watched them play 2 maps against titans. was very funny i swear lol because of their reactions. played 1 hr of l4d but ended up losing even before the heli arrived :( went to find the rest at parklane for pool and mac. then after lonez finished sending xy home we went to kallang airport to eat. stomach was burning because of the double mcspicy so didn't eat anything. homed at about 130? byebye blog next time.

Went illuma to watch "I Love You, Beth Cooper". Totally worth it! Damn dirty jokes and actions, no wonder its NC16. Wanted to go somewhere to have some good food since daryl is driving. sis is going back to her NUS hall today. was feeling (Y) not because of that, but i am going to escape!

its been 4 months since i made that dental appointment. so it means that- I WILL BE POLISHING MY TEETH NEXT MONTH WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

ok i summarize.

fri we went to mel hse there for bowling and i cut my hand while bowling , lika clever eh LOL. den we went to mel house to play drinking game.

ytd we went to watch wcg. omg cosplay is there too. freaking had to waste 2 bottles of eye drops when i reach home. after wcg as xy's hse . drinking game again but this kind damn xiong cause i drank 9 cups in a row.

today was slacck whole day until weijie ask to go dinner.:P eat den went for arcade for a while. will be going to wilson hse for steammmyyyyyboatty next friday. mayb blog tmrr. ciaos!

before i came home. there was these 2 guy. asian guys idk from wad country. they were trying to make me do some survey. i rejected den that guy was like forcing me to do. fine i'll do it. den after that. he tried to convert me. nice try. he said " u seemed busy". i replied, "of course i do, can't u see?" den i walked off. tmd lika zai dunno where my balls come from. den i missed my train. THEN. there was this china lady who dress lika hooker ask me how to get to chinatown. so i directed her to the purple line. then she was like, "can u bring me there?" luckily my train came and i mumbled some excuses and went off. kinda wanted to reply "u wan to hook me up? =.=" LOLL
DEN i received this msgs from mum and my dad.
